Personality Traits of Pisces

Pisces are sentimental and warm individuals who love to dream and wear their hearts on their sleeves. They go with the flow and are open to hearing all sides of a story before making a decision or passing judgement. They’re often inclined to throw themselves into caring for others at all costs and are also known to be psychic and other-worldly.

Their strengths include being:

  • Creative and imaginative
  • Sensitive and compassionate
  • Loving and romantic

Their weaknesses include being:

  • Too forgiving
  • Unreliable
  • Overly idealistic

Horoscope and Symbol

The Pisces horoscope tends to revolve around tackling their overthinking nature and allowing themselves to open up to others. Pisces’ are highly emotive people and are therefore the first to lend a friendly ear to those who need it. However, they’re more hesitant to reach out when they themselves need support.

The symbol of the fish in Pisces reflects their ability to live immersed in the water of their own thoughts and emotions. Their spirituality and psychic intuition mean they’re less inclined to be involved in the material outside world. The two fishes facing opposite directions while remaining on the same level symbolises their ability to see all sides of a situation, creating balance and a well-rounded worldview.

Mythology & History

In Greek Mythology, Pisces stems from the story of Typhon and his terror-fuelled pursuit of the gods and goddesses that lived on Mount Olympus. Aphrodite and her son, Eros, needed help. Aphrodite and Eros fled to the Euphrates River seeking an escape and were met by two fish who helped them on their way.

To show her gratitude, Aphrodite honoured the fish that helped her and her son by placing them in the heavens as the constellation Pisces

Another version of the story, told in Syrian mythology, tells of a large egg appearing on the Euphrates River, supposedly brought there by two fish called Aphros and Bythos. When the egg hatched, Aphrodite emerged as her Syrian counterpart.

Compatibility With Other Zodiac Signs - Relationships & Friendships

Have you ever experienced an effortless connection with someone, only to discover they’re also a Pisces? This natural harmony stems from the astrological forces that shape our personalities. Pisces, renowned for their empathetic and dreamy nature, often feel attracted to a wide variety of characters

So, which of the 12 zodiac signs is Pisces most compatible with?

Aries and Pisces

The pairing of Pisces and Aries illustrates opposites attracting, blending Pisces' empathy and emotional depth with Aries' bold and assertive nature. This dynamic relationship is vibrant and lively, as Aries brings excitement and encourages quicker decision-making, while Pisces offers a calming influence, helping Aries to slow down and consider emotional nuances. Together, they balance each other, with Aries initiating actions and Pisces providing essential emotional support.

Taurus and Pisces

When Pisces pairs with Taurus, their relationship is grounded in mutual respect and understanding, with Taurus providing stability that comforts the emotionally fluid Pisces. This nurturing bond values loyalty and long-term commitment, finding an easy rhythm due to both signs' need for harmony and aversion to conflict. Taurus admires Pisces's compassion and artistry, while Pisces appreciates Taurus's strength and reliability, creating a peaceful home life centred around beauty, art, and comfort.

Gemini and Pisces

The pairing of Pisces and Gemini blends water and air, fostering a relationship that’s rich in ideas and emotions. While both signs are adaptable and open to change, they approach life differently: Pisces is introspective and emotional, whereas Gemini is outgoing and intellectual. For their relationship to flourish, they must balance depth with surface, as Gemini's social nature can overwhelm Pisces, and Pisces's emotional intensity can puzzle Gemini.

Cancer and Pisces

Cancer and Pisces, both water signs, share a natural compatibility and deep understanding of each other's emotions, fostering a harmonious relationship. Their mutual empathy allows them to anticipate and meet each other's emotional needs, creating a nurturing environment where both partners can thrive. This bond, built on trust and support, offers a strong, emotional connection that provides strength and comfort through life's challenges and joys.

Leo and Pisces

The water and fire in Pisces and Leo combine warmth and boldness with depth and introspection. This relationship is marked by a fascination with their contrasting approaches to life — Leo's extroverted nature versus Pisces's quiet demeanour. While Leo may sometimes overshadow the more reserved Pisces, effective communication and mutual respect can help Leo to appreciate Pisces's gentle strength, while Pisces benefits from Leo's confidence and security.

Virgo and Pisces

Virgo and Pisces, opposites on the zodiac wheel, exemplify the attraction of contrasting qualities. Virgo's methodical and critical nature balances with Pisces's compassionate and dreamy disposition, creating potential harmony if both are open to learning from each other. This relationship fosters mutual growth and support, with Virgo providing a solid foundation for Pisces's ambitions, while Pisces offers Virgo insight into a world that’s led by emotions and intuition.

Libra and Pisces

Pisces's sensitivity and creativity beautifully complement Libra's charm. Their relationship has the potential to be peaceful and loving, but they may need to focus on effective communication and grounding to prevent misunderstandings and emotional turbulence. Libra's charm and diplomacy can help to balance Pisces's serious nature, while Pisces's emotional depth can encourage Libra to seek more genuine connections.

Scorpio and Pisces

Scorpio and Pisces, both water signs, are naturally drawn to each other, creating a connection that feels almost destined due to their intuitive understanding. Their bond is characterised by deep emotional resonance and an immediate grasp of each other's inner worlds. This pairing can form a profoundly loyal and transformative relationship, with Scorpio's strength providing security for Pisces, and Pisces's empathy calming Scorpio's intense emotions.

Sagittarius and Pisces

Sagittarius and Pisces, water and fire, create a dynamic that can be both thrilling and unpredictable. Sagittarius's adventurous and freedom-loving nature often contrasts with Pisces's inclination for solitude and depth. However, this pairing can be transformative, with Sagittarius encouraging Pisces to pursue their dreams, and Pisces offering Sagittarius deeper emotional insights. Together, they can embark on both spiritual and physical journeys, uncovering new dimensions of themselves.

Capricorn and Pisces

Capricorn and Pisces often create unexpectedly successful relationships despite their apparent differences. Capricorn’s practical and grounded nature offers a stabilising influence that comforts the emotionally-fluid Pisces. In turn, Pisces enriches Capricorn’s structured world with emotional depth and creativity. This balanced exchange fosters a nurturing environment where both partners can flourish.

Aquarius and Pisces

Aquarius and Pisces blend intellect with emotion. Initially, their relationship might face challenges due to Aquarius’s detached demeanour and Pisces’s deep emotional insights. However, if they overcome these differences, Aquarius can expose Pisces to fresh ideas and new social circles, while Pisces can guide Aquarius to understand emotional depth and the value of empathy.

Pisces Birthstones

Astrology not only connects us with the stars but also links us to specific gemstones that enhance the qualities of our zodiac sign. Considering zodiac signs span two months, they each have two birthstones. For Pisces descendants born in February, this is Amethyst. For those born in March, it’s Aquamarine

Amethyst, with its vibrant purple hue, rich history, and allure, has been a favourite among royalty and aristocrats for centuries, particularly for spiritual guidance. Known as the most powerful crystal for Pisces, Amethyst activates the crown chakra, releasing a universal sea of spiritual energy that’s symbolised by violet light, believed to enhance focus and memory. This gemstone resonates with Pisces' emotional sensitivity, providing feelings of safety and calmness while reducing anxiety.

Aquamarine offers healing properties that keep a Pisces' mood balanced, protecting them from the conflict that they typically avoid. Its water connection encourages Pisces to navigate life smoothly rather than becoming stagnant. While Amethyst activates the crown chakra, Aquamarine invigorates the throat chakra, boosting Pisces' confidence to speak up and assert themselves among others.
