How Online Learning Changed Michele’s Life and Career

Like many of us, Michele found herself in a career that, while successful, didn't fulfil her true passions. Her dream since childhood was to work closely with animals, but she had fallen into a job in a different sector.

For years, Michele worked in sales and marketing and then as a recruiter while also being a devoted mother. Despite the demands of her career and family, her childhood dream of making a difference in the lives of animals never faded. 

"As a child, when my parents asked me what career I envisioned for myself, I immediately answered 'working with animals'," Michele recalls. 

This lifelong passion led her to make a bold decision in her late 40s: to retrain and shift her career towards animal welfare and training.

Michele's transition began with volunteer work at an RSPCA dog rescue centre, which provided invaluable hands-on experience and cemented her commitment to animal welfare. 

It wasn't long before Michele advanced to become a Puppy Specialist and Holistic Dog Trainer. Her approach to training and animal care is refreshingly empathetic and innovative. 

"I treat the animal as a sentient being, offering a safe space where the human can share their true feelings without judgement," she explains.

The turning point in Michele's career came when she discovered Centre of Excellence, an online learning platform that offered her the flexibility and range of courses she needed to pursue her passion professionally. 

Michele has completed six Animal Care diploma courses since 2023, achieving distinction in each.

As a puppy specialist, Michele also plays an important role in educating families, particularly children, on how to interact safely and sensitively with their pets. She dreams of these children becoming ambassadors for animal kindness in the future.
