'Here at Centre of Excellence, we fully believe in the power of transformative education. That's why we're on a mission to empower the lives of over one billion people globally, one course at a time.' Sara Jones, Centre of Excellence
Education is particularly important for young people, especially those who might not have access due to factors beyond their control. Here's a roundup of the latest charity work we're so proud to participate in.
Free Courses for Kids in Hospitals
We have recently teamed up with 3 NHS trusts, including Bolton Royal Hospital, Royal Oldham Hospital, and Tameside Hospital, to give all the children in the hospitals free access to our Courses for Kids.
Children based in the children's wards of these hospitals now have the opportunity to learn about dinosaurs and world explorers and the option of studying school subjects to ensure they keep up to date with the curriculum.
Luca, 10, who studied the Dinosaurs, English and Maths courses, said: "I found them really fun. They helped me a lot at school with lessons I found hard. I also really liked learning about wellbeing as it made me feel happy."
By helping children overcome learning barriers, develop skills, and find new hobbies, we can make a massive difference through the power of education. You can read the full news report for more information.
iPad Donations for Ethiopian Hospital Schools
We are delighted to work with Ethiopian Hospital Schools, a charity providing educational support for children with cancer who can no longer return to school.
By donating iPads and giving free access to courses for kids, we are ensuring that children who are undergoing cancer treatment have the opportunity to continue with their education.
State hospital wards can be bleak and lonely, especially when undergoing gruelling treatment. The iPads and courses provide a welcome distraction to hospitalised children, even helping with their recovery process.
We're also proud to provide grief and bereavement counselling courses for hospital staff working daily to look after the poorly children. These courses are invaluable in helping staff support the wellbeing of the patients, their families, and their own wellbeing.
Supporting the Buddy Bag Foundation
We have also partnered with the Buddy Bag Foundation, a fantastic charity that helps women and children who are escaping domestic abuse.
The foundation provides women and children in emergency care with a backpack containing essential items, including toiletries and comfort items, and free educational access!
The backpacks now include a free pass where children can access online kids courses, and women can access a mindfulness course teaching how to manage anxiety and stress.
It's important that young people and women can continue to access education, no matter what they are going through. We hope these courses will help survivors and their children during a very difficult time.
Our work with this incredible foundation is an important part of our mission to make transformational education accessible to all, and we look forward to continuing to provide educational access to those who need it most. Sara Jones
