Our story

Affordable education for all!

We were founded by Sara Jones in 2012 who wanted to bring affordable, accessible education to the world. Sara had always been an entrepreneurial spirit and started her first business at just 19 years old. Though her business ventures evolved, one thing that remained is her love for self-development and mental well-being, and her passion for using holistic methods to tackle different situations life throws her way.

Prior to founding Centre of Excellence, Sara had been teaching classroom-based courses and staff training in businesses around NLP - Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy. She taught the tools and techniques needed to build confidence, overcome limiting beliefs, remove negative habits and phobias, and create a life that you love. She could see the incredible impact the practices were having on her students, and she’d applied these same practices to her own life. However, she also understood how restrictive classroom teaching can be.

After finding herself in a difficult situation as a single parent with no money or support, Sara wanted a way of creating an amazing life for her baby boy. Knowing that we all find ourselves in difficult situations in life, Sara came up with an idea to help people worldwide access affordable education based around increasing happiness, finding more daily joy, and upskilling. She used her passion for making a difference and her knowledge of helping people improve their mindset with tools and techniques to start Centre of Excellence.

Fast forward to today and we’ve helped over two million people worldwide in over 150 different countries to change their lives. From a start-up in a small living room as a single mum with no money, to a company that’s generated over £40 million in revenue since its conception, we’re now one of the biggest and most trusted online learning organisations in the world:

Accredited courses trusted by millions worldwide

The first course we offered, and the one that started our incredible journey, was the Neuro Linguistic Programming course. This was the course that our founder, Sara, had been teaching in classrooms. Since then, we’ve added over 1000 courses across 30 categories to our collection. These range in everything from business and marketing and corporate wellness, right through to holistic health and psychic and supernatural.

The idea behind offering such a variety of courses is so that our students can develop in every area of their lives. Whether this be professional progression, improving their physical and mental well-being, trying out a new hobby, learning a new language, or gaining a better understanding of other people, we are a platform for full-scale personal development.

All our courses are created by field experts, guaranteeing our students a comprehensive and valued learning experience. And, to aid in long-standing development, some standard courses also have intermediate and advanced follow-on courses. This ensures our learners can gain valuable additional insights.

We strive to provide the highest-quality and most valuable courses possible, ensuring every course offers our community the skills and certifications needed to succeed in their chosen field.

Our Community

Over the last decade, we have fostered a diverse global community of learners, garnering over two million followers on Facebook and 80K study group members. And, our commitment to education doesn’t stop at the metaphorical classroom door…

We understand that learners flourish when they feel nurtured and supported. Because of this, we’ve created a Facebook Study Group where our students can interact with other learners and inspire one another. Two of our amazing learners even tied the knot in 2023!

We’ve partnered with four NHS hospitals to give free access to our wide range of Courses for Kids to help ill children who need extra support. We also work with the prison service, schools, women's refuge centres and lots of children's charities and we invite your ideas and suggestions for how we can all make a difference collectively.

We’re a company with a big heart - we love nothing more than hearing our students' stories of how they’ve used what they’ve learned in their course to go on to change their life. We’re here with you every step of the way.
